PERWAJA STEEL SDN BHD

Perwaja Trengganu Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Heavy Industries Corporation of Malaysia, was established in 1982 to operate a sponge iron and billet making plant. Perwaja Trengganu's main focus was the production of billets for domestic consumption. It then expanded its business into the rolling of deformed bars and production of wire rods, wire drawing as welll as nail making. Perwaja Trengganu Sdn. Bhd. subsequently became the holding company in 1989 with the incorporation of its operating company, Perwaja Steel Sdn. Bhd. In 1996, Perwaja Steel was privatised to Maju Holdings Sdn. Bhd. Perwaja Steel is now the country’s leading producer of a wide range of iron and steel products, namely DRI, billets, beam blanks, blooms, deformed bars, wire rods, drawn wire and nails for domestic and international markets. Perwaja stell is the mini intergrated mill located in Kemaman, Terengganu with capacity of 1mil mt of steelmaking and 1.2 mil mt of DR plant. We are dealing with making and selling rebar grade billets(local and export), rebars, wire rods and DRI. The total work force is about 2000 personnels including plant maintenance groups. The plant is located near a deep sea port, less than 1 km away, which can handle 140000mt of iron ore shipment(unloading) and export billet.
