Overview

The Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District was created by the Louisiana legislature in 1924 and encompasses 203 miles in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The Harbor and Terminal District operates three marine terminals and two industrial parks. Its marine terminals handle bulk minerals, bulk grains, and general cargo including pipe, aluminum, and steel. The District employees 110 employees and is ranked as the 13th largest port in tonnages handled in the USA. The District uses steel in ongoing rail, pier, and terminal buildings being constructed or upgraded.
