GUANGZHOU JFE STEEL SHEET CO.,LTD

15 January, 2004, the Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co. LTD(GJSS) set up by Guangzhou Iron & Steel Enterprise Group (GISE) and JFE Steel Corporation (JFES) with joint venture, formally started. The first period of project - 400,000 Tons of Hot Dip Galvanized Sheets Factory broke earth at the steel base in Nansha of Guangzhou. The total layout area of Nansha Steel Base is 10 sq.km. 400,000 tons of hot dip galvanization project occupies 0.28 sq.km, locating at Wanqingsha Industrial Park of Guangzhou Nansha Steel Base. The total investment of the first project is about USD200 million, with the inverse proportion of 51 by Japan Party and 49 by China Party. The planned annual productivity is 400,000 tons of hot dip galvanized steel sheets for autos mainly, with the thickness of 0.3~2.3mm and width of 800~1700mm, which will also be able to offer high-quality thin sheets for domestic automotive makers, household electric appliance and construction industries in the future. The scheduled time limit for the first period of project will be 20.5 months, finish the construction and put into production at the beginning of 2006.
